Solid system architecture is critical to the performance and usability of the entire GIS and all the related applications. We provide system design strategies that implement n‐tier service oriented architectures (SOA) so that the applications and data will maximize the resources from each other: the GIS Servers, spatial and non‐spatial databases, web applications, services, and the network.
Solid system architecture is critical for allowing GIS systems to function dependably. Today’s GIS and database systems are complex and powerful tools, but they are also very sensitive to proper deployment and configuration. The Santa Fe GIS team has extensive experience in web GIS system implementation, particularly with data driven public facing websites.
